Summary of Information in 5/08 DEIR
It is important
that everyone at least become familiar with parts of the new Draft
Environmental Impact Report for the Chula Vista Bayfront and submit
comments. The NEW deadline is AUGUST 7, 2008. As I go through the document, I plan to
post highlights and summaries at this site.
There was a meeting on June 16, 2008 between 4PM and 7PM at The open house was scheduled for Monday, June 16, 2008, from 4pm to 7pm at South Bay Fish and Grill,
located at 570 Marina Parkway ,
Chula Vista CA 91910. The technical staff that wrote the
different sections of the EIR were not present to answer questions and port staff refused to answer any questions. This was a waste of time.
On June 23 at 6:45
PM at the June meeting of the Southwest Chula Vista Civic Association Allison Rolfe who now works for
Pacifica will do a presentation
about the residential that Pacifica plans to build on the Chula Vista
Bayfront. She also answered
questions. Leslie Wade, who now works for Gaylord Entertainment will also
be present. She will do a presentation
showing what Gaylord is planning to build and also answered questions. The
Southwest Chula Vista Civic Association meets at the MAAC Charter School 1385
Third Avenue in Chula Vista. (This is near the corner of Quintard and across
the street from CVS Pharmacy.)
On Monday July 28,
2008 at the Southwest Chula Vista Civic Association meeting at the MAAC Charter School we will discuss the
entire Bay Front plan and the major problems with the Environmental document.
